What your support has actually paid for.
Every dollar donated to PBA Local 172 stays in Pequannock. Not a national office. Not overhead. Not us. Scholarships, families, events, neighbors. That's where it goes.

Four programs we fund every year.
All of it funded by community contributions. All of it staying in Pequannock.
Scholarships for PHS grads
Every spring we award scholarships to graduating Pequannock High School seniors continuing their education — at a four-year college, community college, or trade program. The award isn't about transcripts. It's about supporting kids who showed up for their school and community, and helping them go after what's next.
Holiday gift cards for families
In December we distribute ShopRite gift cards to Pequannock families identified by school counselors, the police department, and local clergy as needing a little extra help. No paperwork. No questions. No publicity. Just a card in a hand.
Special Olympics New Jersey
Our officers run in the annual Torch Run, raise money, and show up for Special Olympics events throughout the year. We've also played the Morris County Patriots in our annual softball game — nine innings, two teams, one community. Police departments across New Jersey have stood behind this cause for decades. We're proud to be part of it.

Health awareness campaigns
Every November our officers grow mustaches (some better than others) and raise money for men's health awareness. In October we swap our badges for pink ones and support breast cancer awareness. Both are causes that have touched members of our department personally.
The everyday stuff counts too.
Local softball. Little League. Youth teams. Jersey sponsorships, field signs, tournament support — because we remember our own first jerseys, and we know what it meant to have someone behind the team.
When a Pequannock family faces an unexpected crisis — a fire, a medical emergency, a sudden loss — we step in quickly and quietly. Often within hours. No press release. No social post. Just help.
We provide support for officers and families of officers lost or injured in the line of duty. Locally, and for departments across the country when the call comes. That's what mutual aid means.
"Getting this scholarship meant the world to my family. It wasn't just the money — it was knowing our local officers believed in me."
Real quote and photo to be added once we have permission from a recent recipient.
None of this happens without our community.
Residents, businesses, and neighbors fund every program on this page. Your donation — whether it's $25, $500, or $10 a month — directly enables the next scholarship, the next gift card, the next event.
And because we're a 501(c)(8), your gift is tax-deductible. Thank you for considering it.
