Where it goes

A gift of any size goes a long way.

$25
Helps stock a family gift card

Every holiday, we deliver ShopRite gift cards to Pequannock families who could use a hand. Your $25 is one more trip to the store for a neighbor.

$100
Sponsors a community event

From the Torch Run to Movember to Pink Patch — your gift powers the events that bring our town together.

$500
Funds part of a scholarship

Every spring we award scholarships to Pequannock High School graduates. Your contribution helps send a local student on their way.

Every gift — big or small — meaningfully shapes what we can do.

Three ways to give

Pick what works for you.

Option 2
By mail

The way your grandparents did it — and the way a lot of our most loyal supporters still do. Mail a check (no cash, please) made out to Pequannock PBA Local 172. Receipt by return mail.

Option 3
In person

Drop a check off at Pequannock Police Headquarters any time, day or night. The officer at the front desk will take it and make sure it gets where it needs to go.

Note Checks only — we can't accept cash. Officers will never ask for donations outside the Police Desk or a scheduled PBA event.
Important

If someone calls asking to donate — it's not us.

We don't solicit by phone. Ever. Not from a call center, not from a "partner," not from anyone. Our annual mail letter is our only outbound request for money. If you get a call claiming to be PBA Local 172 — it's a scam.

Questions

The honest FAQ.

Is my donation tax-deductible?

Yes. PBA Local 172 is IRS-recognized as a 501(c)(8) fraternal beneficiary society (EIN 22-3348075), tax-exempt since 2014. Donations are deductible to the extent allowed by law. You'll get a receipt automatically for online donations, or by return mail for checks. Keep it for your records.

How do I know where the money actually goes?

Our IRS Form 990 is public and filed every year. You can read every line item — revenue sources, what we spent and on what, our total assets — on our Transparency page or directly at ProPublica. Short version: officers are paid no salary, and we have no debt.

Can my business become a sponsor instead?

Yes, and we'd love that. Most of our sponsors come on board through the golf outing, but we welcome year-round sponsorships too. Use the contact form and we'll send you the current sponsor packages.

Can I give in memory or honor of someone?

Absolutely. Note the name in the Givebutter form, or on the memo line of a mailed check. We'll let the family know if you'd like.

Is my donation secure?

Online donations are processed through Givebutter, a platform used by thousands of nonprofits. We never see your card number. Mailed checks go directly into the PBA's account, overseen by our elected Treasurer (currently Christopher McIvor) and audited each year as part of our IRS filing.

Can I set up a recurring donation?

Yes. Givebutter supports monthly recurring gifts at any amount. A lot of our supporters give $10–$25/month instead of one larger annual gift, and it genuinely helps us plan the year.
