It is with great sadness that the Pequannock Twp. Police Department announces the passing of Chief Brian C. Spring after a long battle with cancer. Brian Spring was a beloved Chief who served the Township of Pequannock as a police officer for 34 years, with nearly 17 of those years as the Chief. Brian Spring began his career in 1986 as a Patrolman, and quickly rose through the ranks. He served as a Patrol Sergeant, Detective Lieutenant, Patrol Lieutenant, and became Chief in 2004. He also served on the executive board of the Morris County Chief’s Association and was a past State Delegate for PBA Local #172.
Chief Spring is survived by his wife Stacy, daughter Melissa, mother Elizabeth, and many other loving family members. Chief Spring was 59 years old at the time of his passing. He passed late last night at his home surrounded by family and loved ones.
The Pequannock Twp. Police Department and Chief Spring’s family would like to thank all those departments and officers who have supported him over the last 3 years.
Visitation will be on Thursday 10/22 from 3-7pm at Vander May Funeral home in Wayne.
A 10 AM Funeral Mass (10/23/2020) will be offered at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 155 West Parkway, Pompton Plains on Friday, October 23, 2020. Interment will be in the First Reformed Church Cemetery, Pompton Plains.
